Default Speed for YouTube (Google Chrome extension)

Summary

The extension does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal or browsing data.

What is stored

Only your settings: default speed, the options you tick (live streams, music, short videos, extension on/off) and the speeds you choose per channel (channel identifier and name). This data lives in the browser's own storage (chrome.storage). General settings may be synced by Google across your devices if you use Chrome Sync; that is done by Chrome itself, not by this extension.

What the extension reads

On YouTube pages it reads information about the open video (channel, whether it is live, category and duration) only to decide which speed to apply. This information never leaves your browser.

Servers and third parties

The extension has no server, makes no network requests, and uses no analytics, ads or remote code.

Permissions

storage: save your settings.
activeTab: when you open the popup, find out which channel is open in the current YouTube tab.
youtube.com: apply the speed in the player.

Voluntary support

The popup may contain an optional donation link. Clicking it takes you out of the extension to a third-party website, which has its own privacy policy.
