Default Quality for YouTube (Google Chrome extension)

Summary

The extension does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal or browsing data.

What is stored

Only your settings: the default quality you chose and the options you tick (live streams, extension on/off). This data lives in the browser's own storage (chrome.storage) and may be synced by Google across your devices if you use Chrome Sync; that is done by Chrome itself, not by this extension.

What the extension reads

On YouTube pages it reads from the player the qualities available for the open video and whether it is live, only to decide which quality to apply. This information never leaves your browser.

Servers and third parties

The extension has no server, makes no network requests, and uses no analytics, ads or remote code.

Permissions

storage: save your settings.
youtube.com: apply the quality in the player.

Voluntary support

The popup may contain an optional donation link. Clicking it takes you out of the extension to a third-party website, which has its own privacy policy.
